Mission Statement

The mission of the Minority Health Education Network (MHEN) is to address the lack of minority health education through increased public health education, health promotion, disease prevention and to promote healthier life styles with an emphasis on minority communities.

About the Minority Health Education Network

The Minority Health Education Network is a program of the Minority Organ Donation Education Program, Inc. The Minority Health Education Network was developed and designed to promote and distribute health information on a local and national level to minority populations and others. Through collaboration we will establish a site were minority health information is easily accessible to all.

The minority Health Education Network welcomes all educational institutions, health agencies, and other non-profits to post their health programs, events, and information pertaining to minority health or health issues on its web site.

For more information on how you can participate with the Minority Health Education Network, please contact William J. Minniefield at (716) 822-6104 or email modep@buffalo.edu

The Minority Health Education Network was developed in response to the lack of health information available to minority populations concerning various health issues. There are agencies that have failed and continue to fail in educating the minority communities concerning important health issues.

The overall goal of the Minority Health Education Network is to serve minority communities by educating minorities concerning various health issues that affect their quality of life. The Minority Health Education Network was developed by minorities to educate minorities. This was due to the cultural barriers and practices that non-minorities have great difficulty understanding.

The Minority Health Education Network is working in collaboration with area churches, educational institutions and community organizations to address this and other health issues that affect the African American and other minority communities.

The Minority Health Education Network welcomes the opportunity to work with other health agencies that are committed to educating the minority and other communities.

William J.
